Interior Consultancy

Leading your own home interiors project may not be plain sailing, but we can help you through the storm

Starting an interior project should be an exciting world of wonderment and design possibilities. However for some it can quickly spiral into a feeling of being completely lost at sea, knee deep in samples, sketches and suggestions. Slowly, what started as a passion project, begins to feel like an obscene amount of overwhelming choices, and that’s before you even hit the technical jargon or suitability for your own project.

Very soon, you start to question everything and feel unsure about your decisions. Then doubt and fear really kick in, as let’s be honest, unlike buying that dress or pair of shoes you could die for one minute but donate to a charity shop the next, you could be living with these interior design choices for a lifetime. Before you know it you’re grinding to a screeching halt and the decorator or builders need your decision…like, yesterday.

Or maybe, you just need to BEGIN and get your project off the page and into an action plan, staying ahead of those harassing you for the all-important decisions.

In the world of interior design, managing your own project can be one of the most rewarding and exciting ventures to undertake. The thrill of designing, brainstorming, and collecting samples for all your ideas, the excitement of the potential, its a lot of fun at the beginning.

Until its not. Until you need to start making real decisions about purchases, real objects or materials that will define a space. Sometimes you can veer off course, taken in by a new concept that’s caught your eye, or a different look that a friend has suggested. Things can become confused, a melting pot of colour, pattern, shape and form with a multitude of uses and outcomes.

In 2020, we introduced the Interior Design Consultancy service. Different from its full throttle end to end sister-service, the Consultancy is for those leading their own project and aims to support, guide and ENABLE you, whether you are beginning a project, or trying to finish it.

In a post-covid world, we are an increasingly digitally literate culture. We are connected like never before, and this autonomy over our curated interests opens up a whole new world of decision making. Since launching the service, we have found that many more clients not only have their own firm ideas on concept, brands, and technique, but also have the distinct desire to feel responsible for their home-making.

Drawing on years of experience in the interiors world, including 5 years spent working in a design-led consultancy environment for leading luxury paint brand Farrow & Ball, I will help to narrow down the choice and alleviate the overwhelm. My job is to help you to edit, curate and critique the options, arriving at an outcome that’s reflective of your goals.

In this project featured below, I helped the client develop a design for her rented guest accommodation. Working virtually,, we decided on wallpapers, fabrics, and paint colours from GP&J Baker, Colefax & Fowler, and Farrow & Ball, to compliment the clients existing furniture. Several additional items were then upcycled to bring the scheme together and create a harmonising and deliberate design for the space.

“Charlotte was the most incredible help with my interior design project. She held my hand and came up with inspirational ideas from beginning to end. Even though most of our consultations we’re over Zoom, she was able to see, and extended upon my vision for the decoration of our guest accommodation. I would recommend her services without hesitation”
