Village Green House

The challenge of this country house redecoration project was to create a contemporary and colourful home while incorporating the existing kitchen and client’s antiques. Using pattern and splashes of bright hues balanced with neutral tones, we turned a dark space into a light-filled haven.

“Having recently moved into a new home, I was thrown by how much choice there is and had no idea where to start!  Charlotte arrived and is unflappable, extraordinarily talented and has made my new home mine.  She took inspiration from my existing furniture, artwork and worked out my personality almost instantly.  Where I thought I wanted muted tones, she reminded me that my life, art etc was full of colour.  She made sure that each room flowed into each other, linking hallways with rooms beyond them, each room flowing into the next and yet each room is totally unique: bold bright colours in one; to gentle neutrals in another.  She achieved the flow using a paint colour, a specific fabric choice or a wallpaper.  She advised me to only upholster a few items and these have linked everything together as well.  In every space she tried where possible to use my existing furniture, which ensured I didn’t overspend on the project either.  My two teenage sons also loved the experience of working alongside her and both love their new rooms.  Her knowledge of colour is second to none. It has been a joyful experience from start to finish and enabled me to get on a do my own day job.  Would I recommend her, whole heartedly.  Would I do a project again without her – not a chance.  Hiring Charlotte, was one of the best decisions I have ever made.”
